Tokyo Hand-drawn Yuzen
“Tokyo Hand-drawn Yuzen,” a part of “Tokyo Regional Brand,” has been cultivated from the old days of Edo period to present day, within the culture of common folks with creative, refined, urban taste. Out of the numerous Tokyo Hand-drawn Yuzen production processes, we will demonstrate the process of "Irosashi (color insertion)," which is most visible and easiest to understand, using the actual obi (sash).

Tokyo shamisen
We are an organization consisting of artisans that maintain Edo and Tokyo’s history and tradition living within “Tokyo Shamisen and Tokyo Koto.” At the booth, we will offer production demonstrations of Japanese traditional musical instruments such as shamisen and koto, recitals, workshops and sales of Kojami Chin-ton (handmade shamisen kit).

Edo joinery
During the Edo period, the Tokugawa shogunate brought in many craftsmen from all over the country. Consumer life developed in the middle of the Edo period, and the work of carpenters was divided into occupations such as Himono-shi, Toshoji-shi, Kuden-shi, and Sashimono-shi (joiner).

Cloisonne ware, because of its elegant coloring and gloss, is compared to seven kinds of gemstones (gold, silver, lapis, glass, coral, agate, and giant clam) in Buddhist scripture; it is called Shippo in Japan, and loved by people all over the world.
